Drummer and percussionist Jason Traweek has ventured across many genres of music, all of which have influenced his unique and distinctly recognizable style of playing. Starting in the 80's punk and metal explosion, Jason learned the techniques of rock drumming in the Los Angeles club scene. The 90's carried him away from rock and into the multi-cultural realm of "world beat" hand drumming, ranging from Celtic to Latino and African rhythms. The new millennium saw a convergence of the two as this multi-instrumentalist moved forward onto the cutting edge of electronica. Playing a hybrid kit drum and percussion setup, he has established himself as a solid performer in the world of live electronic and world beat music, as heard in the unshakable grooves of the award-winning band Matson Belle.Along with his abilities playing drums and percussion, Traweek is also a talented guitarist and keyboardist, and he has put these skills to use in his own songwriting. A debut CD of his solo work is currently in progress, due out by summer of 2004.
